I’m Anna, and I appreciate your taking the time to check out my work!
Here’s a little about me:
I am a graduate of Radford University’s School of Communications where I received my BS in media studies with a concentration in journalism. I have experience as a copywriter and editor, SEO writer and content specialist. I also specialize in features and profile pieces.
Currently, I am the head content coordinator for Great Bridge Living, a hyper-local publication focused on notable people, businesses, nonprofit organizations and events in Chesapeake, VA and the surrounding areas.
In my freelancing career I’ve written for a wide range of publications, from industry-specific publications like The Dental Products Report and ArtVoices Magazine, to local publications like 919 Magazine, The Virginian Pilot’s business journal, Inside Business, and Southside Daily. I have experience with SEO writing practices through HealthGrades, TheeDesign, CRISP (formerly ThreeShips Media) and Searchinfluence.com. I also worked as a marketing, communications and social media specialist with Caring House, a nonprofit organization in Durham, NC, where I married my journalism skills with my love of nonprofit organizations to promote the Caring House cause.
Outside of writing I am a full-time high school English language arts teacher with K12’s Virginia Virtual Academy where I have been sharing my passion for reading and writing with my students for four years. I believe today’s youth is passionate, driven, and caring beyond the generations that have come before them and I am proud to educate and support them on their journey to doing truly great things.
